My Transit Canterbury Camper 1975 Restoration

Postby 75mk1transitcamper » Wed Apr 13, 2011 9:05 am

Hi Guys

This is my first post on here i was recommended to this site by a few people from the oldskoolford website where i have been posting all my pictures etc over the last year roughly.

I thought i would share the pictures of my restoration with you guys on here.

I am hoping to go away in the camper this year and cant wait for my first holiday in her.

Anyway here are some pictures for you all they have some out in the reverse order so you may want to scroll to the bottom of the page and work your way back up to view them in the correct order

Fantastic job, it's always good to see a MKI on the road, especially when it looks as good as yours!

Thanks for all the comments guys, im glad to be on board the site.

Im truly gutted as had a little accident in the camper the other night i managed to back into a lamp post in the dark the damage is not to bad but i definitely think im gonna fit some reverse lights now. It bent my new old stock bumper on the passenger side and cracked the brand new old stock light lense aswell.

So i am after a new bumper for the passenger side rear and a new passenger side light lense aswell.

If anyone has any of these parts please let me know you can send me a private message.

I dont mind the bumper being second hand as long as it is straight as i can get it re chromed to match the other one but if someone has a new one even better.

But i would prefer the light lense to be new old stock or as good as new so they match up nicely.

I guess these things happen its just annoying how it never happens to vehicles that you dont care about i would mind if it happened to my daily driver thats worth about 500 quid i guess its what they call sods law :(

Anyway glad you all like the photos and it was very rusty as you all said but i just got stuck in on my break from uni in the summer when i was meant to be revising lol and still managed to pass my exams aswell bit of luck there i think.

Im only 21 and taught myself to weld with a few tips from my dad who is a mechanic so its been a great achievement for me and im over the moon with the camper now she is all done and on the road :D

Lovely job, colour is :) Don't worry about bumping it, easily fixed. One of my rules in life is that if it's too precious to break then ffs don't use it...That is made to use and enjoy 8)

A little bump is nothing compared to what you've done! Annoying, but not much work. I'll have a look to see if I have some <K1 rear lights, not got a bumper though.
