Hi guys
sorry not been on for a little while, been really busy, the van is my daily driver at the mo so it's now sadly hit 53k

break pipes done, cheated and got a garage to do them, he only charged me a small amount and even collected the van, he was really impressed with the drive,,, and so he should be

well Gladly the van didn't sell and I've kept it! Started fitting rear seats got 1 in and then took it to the hayling meet! good to meet some of you and put the faces to the names!! just took out the rear seat again as took for mot on Tuesday which passed with no advice at all!! really pleased!
only thing I noticed lately is a kind of jerky flat spot when going along not when i'm accelerating or backing off just in between at about 45mph, getting a bit annoying, should I try spraying the pedal with contact cleaner?? or any other suggestions? can anyone read my codes for me in hayling on 15th and see if anything is logged?
also I'm now looking for a sliding door with window , does any side door fit or does it have to be a semi high? and I would like some clean rear doors with windows for a semi if anyone has some, also still looking for some nice wheels and any camper related bits, wanna try and get some of it done before hayling meet so I don't turn up looking the same as last time!!!
cheers guys

i find if you dont laquer the paint it flakes off a bit, well after about a few months or so but laquer makes things shiny where thre other paint is dull

funnily enough I have noticed some laquer peel on my bonnet but I didn't think my red paind had laquer on it, the rear of the van certainly doesn't seem laqured,
all the bits I sprayed 2 years ago is still as bright as ever and un laqured but the rear wing was always a crap colour match as I used a different paint so I just thought I'd go over it again before winter comes!! perhaps I should get the whole dull van laqured? or would I need to do something to the dull paint before that?

Had a miss on mine many moons ago, blocked the pipes off with ball bearings to the egr valve which sorted my problem.

That's a job I've been meaning to do as egr valves are a pain, but mine doesn't actually miss it hunts and only coughs a bit while not under load or letting off
but it did not do it at all today so maybe the contact cleaner worked as I gave it a good squirt this morning, but it might just be me hoping it's cured!!?!

yer that's how I would do it cos ball bearing trick is no good if the valve is stuck in the wrong position

so I gave my rear wing some more paint and it's a better colour, then I cracked open a newImage bottle of t cut, leaving the windows for now !!
and guess what I always do when I open a new bottle of t cut,,,, I knock the F?????G thing over,,, every bloody time!!

Now because I can't get a side door for love nor money I decided to do mine up as it's basically rust free just got a dent, I thought I'd do a couple of small rust spots behind the door while i'm at it too, so first I ground the dent and rusty bits to bare metal
Image
Image
then a bit of fibreglass filler in the dent, which I must say was in the most awkward to shape place right on a crease
Image
then a few more fills and rubs later and my light ran out,
Image

I also got the rear of my door flush after 3 years of not being right, I was hoping that bringing the back out would make the front flush but it does not :(
I seem to be missing a door guide, but I don't even have the holes for it!
Image
definitely not right :(
I have this
Image
but nothing on the door to slide in it!
Image
not sure if I can fit one!
and the bottom runner arm is adjusted as close as it'll go too, but I think it might need something because it feels a bit slpooy in the bottom runner as I can pull and push the bottom of the door, a bit, should I be able to?
anyway hopefully I'll get more done before the hayling meet sunday, need to sort this crack out that's appeard in my wing
Image
tune in soon for more progress, or I will see you at hayling!

So today made a start on this wing because weather had meant the van was stuck in
Image
Image
Image
primer
Image
Image
paint and put back together!
Image
Image
also I found this broken plug loose
Image
so i removed the top of it and glued the rubber grommet to the back of the plug so hopefully it'll keep those wires in and tighter,
Image
shame i didn't get to the meet but bloody weather can never be relied on and when it rains I can never back the van out of my garden as it just spins and makes a muddy mess, I didn't want to get any moisture in my work either, I wonder if I could fit chunky 4x4 tyres?! might grip better?
