I've had a day off today! just been looking on ebay for some wheels I have come up with an idea to make steels look ok ish!
if anyone has an old but clean set of 6 studs at a bargain price I'm interested!

if you get them banded are they going to clear on full lock

You can't band the sealing edge, the rim will collapse

i dont no the ins and outs of this but there two pics some wer on the forum one van is the orange irish van banbed the same as the pics youve put up and the other is a metallic blue van and these have been done on the outer of the rim, i cant see why they would collapse look at a standard mk 1 cortina rim and then look at a lotus rim?

i was just gonna paint them !! about as far as I can afford really! banding looks good but tyres and things will be too dear i'm sure, unless someone has a set all ready for me?!
and surely cutting holes to make different would weaken the wheels??

been busy again today,
cleared out the van to put the seats in the back so I can sort out the cab, matt had already unbolted the driver seat, so I unbolted the twin seat and then took the top of the gearstick off and took the gear surround out, then I cut away the naff chewed up bit of mat where the drivers feet go, I knew it was rusty but how bad!!!? I took the wheel arch covers off too bit they are totally mint which was a relief!7

then i took the rest of the trims off on the passenger side, and found a few more holes! but at least the arch where the shock goes it totally solid,,, phew

so then i started with the grinder again (with wire brush on and cleaned all the lopose rusty bits off, got it down to bare metal and only found a few holes!! it still looks brown in the pics but it's silver I promise! by then it was almost dark though!!

Hopefully tomorrow I can find some metal to make some patches!
just thought I'd keep you all posted! I have not given up just yet,,,,, almost!!
(anyone wanna buy a tranny wink wink!)
