Who Lives Nearest to Lancaster Please?

Postby mb4ever » Mon May 20, 2013 4:07 pm

:)

As an encouragingly high number of people have taken and interest in Mk1 cab mats column since it started, I talked with Jan Stretch of http://www.carpets4.co.uk about fitted carpets for Mk1 cabs.
Jan reckons that from about £60 they could make a fitted carpets for Mk1s, and, i assume, for Mk2s.
Prices will obviously vary with the quality of carpet that you choose.

If you live near Lancaster, please would you be prepared to drop in to see Jan at

Old Rope Walk
Bulk Road
Lancaster
Lancashire
LA1 1DF

with your Mk1 or Mk2 so that Jan, or whoever, can measure up.
Once a pattern is made, I expect other form members will be able to mail order fitted carpets for your Mk1 or Mk2.

What would be most handy I guess would be if you have an early Mk1 with pedals coming up from the floor, then Jan would be able to make a couple of patterns.
One with cut outs for the pedals, and one for pendulum pedals.

That's as long as I've guessed correctly, that the floor mat on an early Mk1 was basically the same as on the later ones.

You can contact Jan on 07818 432626 beforehand if you wish.

Carpets are considered to be much better at sound deadening than the original rubber mats.

I expect there's a good chance you get a free one Walt.
I think it would be down to your chat line.

I've warmed Jan up a bit by telling her I've put it on this forum.
I expect that if you tell her the page has nad a lot interest with over 80 views in 5 days, it will makes a freebie more likely.

How about giving her a ring?
Good Luck.

There is no said price I'm afraid Neil.
It all depends on what Walt finds out.

Oh, the suspense :?

Walt is going to take his van so that Jan can see what's involved Neil.

Jan can only give a price after she's measured the van, and made the pattern.

People can only make decisions about buying these mats when they know the price.
The carpet types on offer.
The colours available.

I expect Walt's opinion will influence people too.

If you wish to find someone in your area, I will be very happy. :D

How's things going please Walt?
Neil seems pretty impatient here.
