if it was running well before it was parked up , new fuel and a spark and they nearly always fire up even better if its been inside

Yes a big advantage if you were the one who parked it up and know it was running OK,rather than spending hours only to find out that it was parked up because it was knackered.
As long as water can't get down the inlet and there are no weeps from a head gasket the bores should stay fairly corrosion free for a long time.
