:)

How bad are you old springs Ellwood?
A picture with the rear wheels off the ground, and one wheel completely off so the spring shows clearly would be a bit handy..

Pricewise on those airbags, have you factored in shipping and taxes?

Nice one Walt, I bet you feel like a dog with two tails.
There were some new front bushes last time I looked.

If they aren't heavy duty springs, and if you've got any cash left what do you reckon to fitting come coilover shocks at the same time?
You would probably benefit from new shocks anyway, while, in my view, the coachbuilder should have fitted coil over shocks from the start.
I expect they were an extra.

Good luck with your hunt for coil overs Walt.

I think you will find coilovers well worth fitting .
Standard Transit springs are designed to work with light, medium, and heavy loads.
As your camper is heavily loaded even when it's empty, the light and medium parts simply wilt and let the back end down.
They won't let is down as far as your old settled springs, but they may let it down further than you'd like.

If you can't run to coilovers, you can always consider a spacer block between the spring and the axle.
A 25mm spacer will lift your back bumper / step / whatever about 40mm.
I think you will find the coilovers give you a better ride though.

i can get some coil over shocks from motomobil but they would set me back nearly £200 which will have to wait, its a hobby at the end of the day. i just wanna get off camping or to shows its 1st steam rally is 25th.
the new springs have got to be a inprovment as old ones are flat and they have 2 more leafs than originals and i'm only going to put essentionals in like small gas bottle.

200 sheets for coilovers is verging on the ridiculous in my book Walt.

Besides which, if you've got 2 more leaves, I doubt if you will need them.

If you want to raise the back end a bit, a block between the spring and the axle will take car of that.

If you store the heavy stuff you usually keep at the back between the axles for the journey, you'll get you motor to balance better.
A gas cylinder at the back puts about the same amount of weight on the rear springs as 2 gas cylinders in the middle for instance.
Not many people realise that.

200s very steep. I understand now about wieght behind the back axle and how it equals to a greater wieght. The gas bottle locker is on back left so ha e no choice with that but everything else can be kept to a minimum. Springs should be here friday :D

Roll on Friday then eh Walt?

Nothing to say you can't put your gas bottle, where you want for the journey Walt, as long as it is not connected.
Same with everything else.
Proper Travellers take everything heavy or valuable out their cupboards etc, and pack them carefully in the middle of the van for the journey.
Then put them back when they get there.
Even their gas bottles.
