:)

Do you know the life expectancy of the Corsa pump used like that please Vandalism?

Quote "I have looked into the corsa pump's and apparently failure of the pump is quite a common occurance, In fact i have read quite a few articles as regards to electric pumps packing up..

I've heard that about electric power steering pumps too.
On the other hand, does anyone know of a reason why one can't use a belt drive pump instead of the electric one.
.

At work there quite a few of us have/ had corsa/ combo van's with EPS, non of them have had any issues with failure of the elctronic assistance and most are coming up to 200K now - they've been well and truely abused too, only issue on one was a lack of self centering which was due to lack of lubrication, according to the local breakers they've never had one come in thats failed yet when they test them prior to selling them. Even if the EPS does fail it just goes back to normal non assisted steering unlike a hydrolic set up.

we fit the motor into the column ( chop/splice it in ) should look like this when done right,, and they dont give any trouble at all, once fitted ,, forget it and use it

no more than other cars/vans we do EPS systems for,, and they still retain all the original features (steering wheel/lock/switches/plastics etc )

well the web page says transit 440 and I don t think that's too bad but I suppose fitting on top will send it quite higher and your better with an expert fitter

as said above , the transit mk2 and 3 set ups are £440 inc postage, with the mk2 we need your steering box (this doesnt apply to later models) because steering boxes are prone to haveing quite a bit of play in them, we will only convert your box/column assembly,,,,,, it save any problems later,,( ie my van has play in the box and it didnt before ) we also do in house fitting job done £620,, it is expensive , but its an all day job and you cant cut corners on the steering ( it helps when you turn the steering if it all works right  ),, when we do a conversion on a steering box, it ends up being a 2 piece unit rather than 1 big lump,, you end up wuth a short stub sticking out the box, then a coupling uj to the rest of the column whichis all mounted inside inc the electric motor and control units,
