Front leaf spring Mk2 transit 2.4d

Postby 4ft » Tue Mar 11, 2014 12:49 pm

Morning All

Any ideas about getting hold of replacement front leaf springs, my drivers side is very saggy and this morning the other side snapped the main leaf...

any suggestions for alternative donor vehicles or sources would be much appreciated.

thanks

Mk3 springs fit, or do a search for commercial spring repairers/suppliers as even new HGVs still use leaf springs.

There was a pair of brand new genuine ford one's on the bay recently and no one touched them at £99 starting bid :?: I was tempted to get them but they were collection only and a bit far away (Doon Sooth)

ended up getting single leaf units from transitcentre which is Polish I think. They were very good, very fast and the springs were fine, but the van still sags and I wonder if the single leaf units were the same weight rating as the multi leaf springs that were fitted? Also I´ve noticed that sometime in the past an extra leaf was stuck in the back and this causes the van to list.

Still, rolling is as rolling does!

MK3 springs fit the MK2, ive got a set on my MK2, you're right Luke, axle sits slightly further forward, doesn't bother me and no rubbing even with 16's on it
