Old Yella ( until it isn't ! )

Postby KerryB » Sun Jul 06, 2014 10:22 pm

Just got this today, needs lots of work, typical "keep it on the road anyway you can " kind of van. I'm not sure what the front seats are out of but I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be bolted to blocks of wood on the floor ! Steering wheel is not original, fibreglass roof is also not original, should be a pop top, bonnet pins instead of cable release, patch panel welding, but it still has charm :D engine is not original so I think maybe an Essex would be in order. I need to check the gearbox as it has a five speed mk3 gear lever but only 4 gears and it is way too close to the dash for normal driving, either that or I am just too darn short

Passenger seat, sprayed at same time as van but drivers has been painted black. Are the blocks of wood to alter the angle of the seat ? Shouldn't this all be boxed in with plastic and have a pivot at the front only or am I mistaken?
