Rubber front floor mats

Postby Mrs Thatcher » Tue Jul 22, 2014 10:31 am

Hi all,
I have spoken to the owner of Obsolete Rubber in Melbourne concerning replacement rubber front flooring as I'm struggling to find some for our MK1. He indicated if he had enough pre sales for similar models he would entertain making them.

Is anyone considering this at all?

Regards

hi

can anybody tell (show) me what should be on the flor of an MK1 bus ? ( 72E2A )..
can it be seen in one of FORD brochures ?
carpet ? rubber ?
or did it have a bare floor ?

I think I might try ribbed rubber mats ... or a Ford blue, short hair carpet ..

(Ps I had send an email to Peter Lee ..no answer so far)

thanks

rgds,
Peter

I have a good used MK1 Minibus rear rubber floor mat and the under plastic mat that levels the floor ribs.

Hi Ralph,

could you mail me a picture ? I suppose yours is for a UK version ( left hand drive , so door on the left of the bus...no ? ) so I suspect the holes for the fixation of the seats (benches) are in a 'mirrored' position.
also a picture of the "underplastic' maybe ...so I know what I must look for.
The rubber mat Peter Lee has on e-bay is for the front (cabine / driver seat ) right ?

thanks

Hi Peter, yes the one on Ebay is the front mat. It might take me a while to get to the mat and under plastic as its right at the back of my workshop unless I already have a picture. It didn't have a side door from memory, it was a while ago that I broke it for parts. It was a 1965 so very early.
My email if you need it is ralphmk1@hotmail.co.uk.
