yep watched that many times, full screen, still pause etc. Really can't see any detail. Which kind of leads me to the conclusion that if I can't see it, then most likely nobody else can either, so perhaps it is one of those details that is not super important! As long as the wheels are f' in wide, with polished outers, and black centres, that will probably be near enough :)

cynical Sid! I guess by the same logic you could say the the Eiffel tower is just a bunch of old scaffold rivetted together. And the Mona Lisa is just a bit of paint slapped on to a canvas, and the channel tunnel is just a big hole in the ground...........

the mona lisa is just that if you can find the real one, Eiffel tower and channel tunnel are construction genius where supervan was a publicity stunt of the day long gone

have to disagree there. Setup is quite soft in the rear, a lot more roll stiffness in the front, causing it to lift front wheels through the corners. Although there is quite a bit of body roll, it is probably no more than the Mk1 Escorts and Lotus Cortinas of the day, which all seemed to be setup this way back then. Centre of gravity is still quite low, and towards the rear, with that cast iron V8 and transaxle hanging underneath. Moves around a fair bit, and looks quite spectacular and perhaps a bit scary, but has good grip and is quite safe in those clips. Biggest downside I can see is front end lift at speed losing front end grip. Also, rear track is narrower than the front, which looks a bit odd. Then again, even the standard Mk1's and Mk2's were like that!

I'm still looking forward to seeing it. Even today it's rapid, let alone 40 years ago.

no Cortinas and Escorts did not have 15" wide front wheels, but what's your point? Fronts are same size as rears, should have gone to spec
savers,
