URGENT ADVICE NEEDED

my mk2 is stuck in reverse and no end of brute force on the gearlever she won't come out.
the trouble is I sold her and at the moment she is 3/4 out of the garage and not moving much on the starter.there was a pool of fluid under the diff could that be the cause?

I'm guessing the selectors are stuck somehow, try removing the gear stick and seeing if you can move things then

or take the prop off so it will roll about

in typical fashion after struggling for hours I went out to her and gave the gearlever a wack and out she popped but whenever I try to put her in gear she stalls.left her in neutral and managed to move her with the ratchet strap,not too easy as she has 3 flat/holed tires.
