2 litre essex alternator upgrade

Hi we re in the middle of the usa with our transit mk1 and need a alternator upgrade. Does anybody know a 90 or more amp alternator who is a direct fit for our car ? We try a rabbit one today but it did not fit:-(
A partnumber would be amazing help:-)

car is a 1974 transit mk 1 with 2 litre essex engine

Surely any one that will physically fit and tension up should work as long as its 12v... bigger capacity shouldn't be too much of an issue ?!
