real long shot

Postby TIGERRYES » Thu Mar 17, 2016 9:15 pm

Hi, this might be a real long shot and probably a dead end but i'm looking for someone who i met about 12 years ago ish, he drove a real old transit, roundy front(i don't know my transits, yet, sorry) anyway it was in a services down near exeter way i was heading for the M5, when stuck in traffic one of my front brakes seized up and managed to get to the service area. No brake down cover, on the phone to my hubby who was 500 miles away while we tryied to figure out what to do. This guy pulls in in his transit and offered to help. can't remember his name but one of his arms was knackered, from a bike accident I believe. He spent the next 5 hours fixing the seized caliper and getting me mobile, i brought him drinks etc and handed him tools. He had recently bought a bit of land nearby and i was telling him how cheap places were in Scotland(where i was heading to) Anyway slipped him some money for his troubles and i headed home. would love to catch up and find out how he is doing now. Like i said a bit of a long shot but ya never know

Google mk1 transit thru to mk5 and see what Mk it looks like. Then post in the corresponding section something like 'MK_ owners near Exeter please read' you might find your target audience better that way
If you own a transit, learn to weld

davec6newman, it was a real long time back tbh but he was quite a slim chap, think he had short dark hair, maybe mid thirties but i'm no good with guessing ages i'm afraid. I can't be hundred percent sure but think his old transit was dark green but my memory is quite bad and it was before everyone started taking selfies and facebook etc so wouldn't have thought to snap a pic

madbri lmao, he definitely had 2 ears

Some people are like slinkies.... not good for much but bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.
