How much narrower is a mk3 twin wheel rear axle than a mk2 twin wheel rear axle?

Can't you just swap the diff centres over? I'm assuming you've seen the one on ebay?

I can but it's time, I just don't have a lot currently, so messing about swapping difficult is something I just don't have time for so would like to just swap axles ideally.
