Classic vehicle insurance? Who With?

Postby TheWebDesignCompany » Thu Mar 24, 2016 6:55 pm

Hi I just changed my insurance over on Adrian Flux with my old van (an electric vehicle) to my new van (as shown in my Avatar)
a 1972 MK1 Transit, and wanted to insure it as a classic vehicle. But was told that they do not have it on their database and was charged
around £700 for a years insurance fully comp with mileage limited to 2000 miles a year!!!

Thats insane, I was told that the person I bought it from had insured it for around £150 fully comp on a classic vehicle policy.
I need to get this sorted. Does anyone else have a mk1 or mk2 transit on a classic vehicle policy, and if so, who with and what did it cost?

To insure it without limiting the miles to 2000 a year they wanted around a £1000
it seems really exorbitant?

I would guess something has got confused with Flux.

My 1972 Mk1 lhd firevan is with them at around £160 with a V6 on limited mileage. And originally they insured it for slightly less with the V4 based on the chassis number before I registered it, so before it appeared on the DVLA database.

Im picking it up in the morning, it has been off the road for a year or so.
I will need to get it taxed when I pick it up.
