Anyone fitted a front antiroll bar to mk2?

Postby Retrohowla » Wed May 11, 2016 7:52 am

Got myself a mk3 antiroll bar, the only bit I'm curious about us how the angle brackets are mounted to the chassis, the bracket has 4 bolt holes but no corresponding captive nuts in the chassis of my mk2.
Has anyone retro fitted similar and did you thru bolt or wekd in captive nuts?

I have just removed one from the front of a MK2 Ambulance, there are some extra bolts mounted just behind the front spring hangers.

Yes mine rolls alot, but then again also I'm running a TD lump and I'm not light footed, it gets a bit out of shape if I'm pressing on

Sussed it now, I was looking for additional bolt holes, turns out the brackets use the same bolts as the engine mounts. All fitted up, hopefully my cam belt kit will turn up today so I can take her for a spin. Thanks again chaps

Wow, what a difference! It's literally transformed the handling, I can't believe how well it corners now, I'm really pleased with the results! :D

Luke, its like a different van, i dont know if mine was particularly bad before hand, but i had all new bushes in the front suspension but the springs are from a MK3 chassis cab diesel and might of had a very hard life.
Either way, i highly recommend fitting it
