Need help 2 litre Essex

Hey guys my engine broke down, still runs but has a bad knock. So i looking fo a new engine. The problem is that we are at the moment in California and you cant find transits here lol . So if anybody maybe has a a fresh overhauled essex or knows a place wheres i could buy one please let me know. Here is a short video of our trip :-)

Hi, it would probably be easier to find someone to strip and rebuild what you have rather than ship an engine, worst case you will need a new crank a full set of bearings and gaskets.
More likely you will get away with re grinding the crank and fitting oversized bearings along with a new gasket set. They would be a lot cheaper to send than a complete engine.

That's an EPIC road trip though, how long have you been in the states for?

thats too much work, found the problem and only need to replace some rod bearings i guess:-)

Check the state of your crank to make sure it hasn't been marked or the new bearing will quickly fail. I though the firevans were only 1.7 and not a 2.0?

If it's 1.7 cologne could try Subrew.com stateside,deal with Saab v4s,or see if motomobil stock what's req.

One word of advice,use a new socket on the big end bolts,if a worn one slips they will be a job to get out.
