mk1 transit supervan1

Postby bj928 » Fri Dec 16, 2016 12:38 am

Well i head off on Sunday to collect my MK1, so my supervan 1 tribute can start to take shape, yes it will have the engine in the back, and it will be independent suspension all round, i work in the states 8 months of the year, but will get as much done before i head back stateside in April, but lots of goodies will be coming home with me this time next year to make the van very very special, mustang ii front suspension (bit like granada mk1/2 and cortina mk 3/4/5), rear axle will be a from a 2015> mustang GT, engine will be a ford 5.4 block with Ford GT supercar heads (heads are already in the uk, block is sitting in america waiting to ship in April, gearbox will be a hybrid of a mustang gt500 6 speed, and a corvette diff to make up the transaxle, oh and the engine will use MMR rotating assembly (rated at 2500hp), and a pair of GT35r turbos, god this thing as going to be fun to drive

wheels unknown yet, but maybe billet so i can get the offset i need, or else something retro looking with big dish, i would like to run 290 tyres all round for mega grip, wheel arches will be modified mk1 escort bubbles, to get as close to the supervan 1 look, i want to do a tribute rather than a copy, that way i can build it to a more modern spec, but look like supervan 1 on the outside, not even 100% it will be white, maybe a colour for today, like a satin black or something, i'm not a fan of white vehicles, and back in the day, white was just easy.

well i got it back to the uk, good run but a long day, first time towing my new trailer, but the 3.2 diesel merc didn't even know it was there, even with van on it.

it is a 1.7 v4 Cologne engine as the dizzy is at the back,
