Mk1 Brake server boost ratio

Postby stephenwestlake » Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:45 pm

Hi.
I need to replace the servo on my 1968 175. This is the pre-1970 remote servo below the battery. It seems too rusty inside and I haven't been able to open it yet.

There seems to be plenty of replacements available, but what boost ratio should it be? As it is 7" it looks like it could be 1.65:1, 1.90:1 or 2.3:1?
The Ford part was 2400E-2005-B, and it has a tag with 4257/710 - 13 4G which sounds like an old Lockheed number, but I can't find equivalents.
Do I just go for the 2.3:1 as it is a big beast, or perhaps the 3.0:1 meant for Austin Healys?

To answer my own question, a 2.3:1 boost ratio seems fine. I fitted the Caparo AP (nee Lockheed) LR17792.
