My Mk1 does 105Mph

Postby stooy » Sun May 07, 2017 6:44 am

G'day Guys,

I thought some of you might be interested to know that over summer I got the chance on a race track to run my 1974 Mark 1 up.

It is an Aussie factory 6 cylinder Transit, now fitted with a warm 250ci non x flow falcon 6 cylinder which I think makes about 160-170hp. It is fitted with a GM turbo 700 gearbox giving a .7 overdrive. It has standard suspension, all in good condition and new shocks etc.

I ran her up to 100mph on the speedo, then went a bit further back around towards 0.

The Transit was stable, comfortable and showing no signs of any handling problems.

Thought you might enjoy this story.

Cheers

Thanks,

It looks better in photos, there is a bit of rust in the roof, but nothing that won't keep for a few more years.
