If you use it without rectifying those failure points then you are bang to rights if pulled by Plod or VOSA. If you dont test it then you are still liable to hassle if pulled by the boys but more likely to get a rectifivation notice

Has anyone in the trade got any current standards for the Mot exemption rule now it's in force?
From what I've been able to find, there seems to be a few loop holes surrounding modification in the name of better safety, efficiency and where original parts are not practically available to preserve a historical vehicle.
Now I understand there's an element of interpretation with this, for instance, a small floor pan mod to fit a 5 speed mt75, makes the vehicle more economical.
A MK3 rear axle fitted to a MK2 because you couldn't get a brake back plate for love nor money, "not practically possible"
2.5 DI fitted in place of a 2.0l pinto, 30mpg Vs 18mpg, "economic" argument again.
So even though modified, were all still preserving historic vehicles and by definition, should be eligible for not examption
