Workshop manual for Transit Mk1 V4 1,7L

Postby BigBangNow » Fri Dec 22, 2017 11:10 am

Hello, I'm new here.
I am already registered in German MK1 fohrum, but it does not seem to be as lively as English forum.

I drive a Transit Mk1, V4 1.7L gasoline.

2 weeks ago I bought the and only after 400km loses engine oil, always if I make engine off, up to 60ml...Yesterday I did the engine wash, today I can see where the oil comes from.

But I have no workshop manual for Mk1, only for Mk2 ... but inside is not the V4 engines are listed, does anyone have information for V4?

Kind regards,
Leon.

Hello, I've already found something there, I'll definitely get a book, do you know if they sell it as a PDF? I also found the oil leak, have never seen anything like it. You can see air bubbles and oil that comes out. This is a starter, but I can not find the seal in WEB, probably I have to drain oil, and then stick with silicones

Workshop manual for Transit Mk1 V4 1,7L

Why’s there that much oil in the bellhousing to leak out of starter?
Thinking about it,rear of colonge block there is a cap that fits over rear balance shaft bearing that if leaking would put oil in bellhousing,or leaking gearbox, but there shouldn’t be oil sitting or getting spun round the flywheel

In http://www.capri.pl you can find also parts catalogue, but without engine...https://www.capri.pl/library/microfilms/transit74
They have engines, but not V4, only V6 (TV/Köln/Cologne) 2.0/2.3/2.8/2.4/2.9/Cosworth https://www.capri.pl/library/microfilms/v6-engine

Whole their library you can find in link https://www.capri.pl/library/#movies List of contents is in Polish, but pages are in English or in four languages. So - it isn't hard to use it...

Nice! That's exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Now I am only looking for lamp inserts, because my lamps are rusted in fenders. In Germany, I found none = (

Hi there! I'm also Dutch and yesterday took the V4 apart to change the blown headgasket.
Some well deserved maintenance and cleaning for this old lady. :D

But to put back together I need a workshop manual for the timing, valve clearance and torque.
Does anyone have a PDF for the german cologne V4 engine ?!?
