Hello, can you tell me where to find the vin number on a swb 1968 diesel Transit????

It maybe stamped into one of the front door steps if it still has original steps and I think the vin plate is pop riveted on n/ s step if memory serves me right

the vin plates missing then ? should be on step or on the buklhead under the bonnet to the right,, if its not there and you want info you can pm me the serial number off your log book and I can decode it for you

Is the VIN not stamped on the NSF chassis leg?

Yes, it will be stamped in nsf spring hanger.

Hello,
Could anyone to explain NSF abbreviation please ? is it something like: near side... ? and when you write spring hanger it should be stamped inside (engine chamber) or outside (wheel chamber) ?

N/s/f = Near side front o/s/f= Off side front o/s/r = off side rear n/s/r = near side rear

The vin will be on the left front chassis beam viewable through the wheel arch. Left being from the drivers seat :)

On early LHD Genk built vans the vin is stamped on top of the LH inner wing,viewing from front,bonnet open.
