Hi all,

Since Boris has announced that as from 3rd January 2012, certain vans will be subject to a daily LEZ charge of £100 just to operate within the London Low Emission Zone,

Our phone has been going mad with people asking if their van will be affected or not and we have already sold a handful of new and used vans simply because people are being forced into getting something newer that will not get charged the £100 a day fee,

Good news though, if your van was registered before 31 December 2001, then you will qualify for the Ford Scrappage allowance to avoid the LEZ charge, subject to ticking a few other boxes,

If you need any help or guidance with finding out if your van will be subject to this new charge then please feel free to get in touch,

Regards,

Colin

If your van is 10 years or older you could get up to £7,900 off a new Ford Van!*

In advance of the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) Phase 3 starting in January 2012, Ford is proud to support its London customers with a Commercial Vehicle Scrappage Programme to assist you in changing to a cleaner, greener commercial vehicle.

From 3 January 2012 the LEZ emissions standards will become more stringent. More vehicles will be affected, and those that are already affected will need to meet tighter emissions standards. This means if your van is 10 years or older you will have to pay a minimum of £100 per day to enter the LEZ.

The LEZ operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including weekends and public and Bank Holidays.

Good news - every new Ford Commercial Vehicle will be exempt from the LEZ charges.

To help you make the switch to a cleaner and greener Ford Commercial Vehicle, and you have a vehicle registered to an address within the M25, Ford and its dealers will support you with up to an additional £3,000 off selected new vehicles, plus the dealers own discount,

*Please contact your local dealer for a bespoke Scrappage quote

£7,900.00 sounds good :!: It's the "up to" bit that concerns me

So I drive my old 1996 Euro2 van in and drive out with a brand new white SWB LOW 140 T330 with twin side loaders, tailgate, aircon, heated windscreen/seats, leccy windows/mirrors, front fogs, blue tooth, steel bulkhead, side rubbing strips and full hub caps/or alloys, step bumper with reverse sensors, proper full on alarm, how much :?:

edit;
and a TDCI badge in the grill :!:

Hi Andy,

Your right they always have an Up to price

Basically we have some huge discounts off all new Transits at the moment,

And if someone has an old battered van that qualifies then Ford cough up a little bit more,

basically that £7,900 off would be a combination of mostly dealer discount on and up to an extra £1,500 from Ford, all press adverts fail to mention that any advertised scrap allowance is made up by 50% from Ford and 50% from us the dealer  that causes lots of awkward conversations

It's all based on percentages, for example a 25% discount on a 260 SWB LR would not be as higher number as a 25% discount on a fully loaded 350 LWB HR Limited etc,

We advise people that ALL quotes should be treated as bespoke quotes, and if anyone wants a quote, please let me know,

If you need a chat, then please fee free to give me or one of the guys in the office a call, we don't bite, well one of them might, but I'll point him out before any law suit occurs
