The way round it is to fit low-profile tyres to the tag axle... :wink:

Then tell VOSA it's a spare wheel carrier.. 8)

That's what an LDV owner told me at a show once when

I asked him how to "get away with it" :lol: :lol: :lol:

you are carrying unnecessary weight if you leave the diff in.

i`ve got the old axle with a 5.83:1 diff :lol: which i took of my truck last year just needs some new brakes in it.
theres pleanty of room to fit it under, will just have to move my lights back a bit.
if i do do it it wont be for a while as have to get my van finished first.
the truck carrys the weight very good as it is but the truck is very light on the rear end and am hopeing this would provide more traction.
plus it could carry more weight as tecnically it can carry 5 ton, but as it is the tyres can only carry 2.
