Postby dieselhead123 » Tue Jan 13, 2015 6:08 pm

Hi chaps, finally we have replacement sill panels available for the Transit Connects :D

I have ordered one as a sample and will get some pictures up once we have it.

HI there Connect owners.

A number of you have expressed an interest in these so here is an update.

We had delivery of a 'sample', but I have to say that I was not impressed with the product, just a folded piece of sheet, no pressings in the lower 'face' to show where the jacking points are
Not something I would want to put my name to!

We have now spoken to another supplier about these and have an initial sample on back order, 2-3 weeks from now we are told.
These appear much better, from the description we have been given they are definitely 'pressings' and are also handed. The description suggests they are likely to be what is termed as a 'full' sill and include part of the door shut.

A picture will be posted against a Connect once we have these.

Sorry for the delay chaps, but the first 'offering' was just not good enough

Will both lengths be available Tim?

My mate got an advisory on his 57 plate that they were starting to go!

From the information received, just the SWB at the moment, but I am sure either two could be joined or just the rear part used.

We do have SWB and LWB on the 'front' once the sample arrives I will try it on both and post pictures.

Had the sample delivered today, yes, it is a proper pressing, even has the 'jack position arrows' :D
I will get a picture up tomorrow showing the part against a Connect.

Initially, these will only be available for SWB vans, but a competent installer could easily use the rear part to repair a LWB, alternatively join two together

These do not include the 'step' for the SLD as they are intended for non SLD models, but again could easily be adapted for use on models with a SLD.

The panel is available for both sides.

Thanks for your interest lads,

As can be seen here, the panel features the factory pressings, including the 'arrows' for positioning of the factory jack.
These panels are for SWB vans with NO side loading door, although the section of rear quarter panel where the side loading door recess is could easily be removed from the panel if fitting to a van with a side loading door.
For LWB vans, you could use this part, if fitted from the front, the panel would go as far back as at least halfway along the side loading door, the very rear part of the panel could be used for the area behind the rear wheel arch trim.

These parts are now available from stock at £35 each including VAT.
