epic fly by wire pump ....

Postby chth1812 » Sat Apr 20, 2013 9:35 am

Hello,
Can somebody let me know which is the appropriate (original) Lucas pump type for a 1995 2.5Td 85HP Transit? I bought the car last year but it has problems in accelerating and switching off. Could this be related to connection between the ECU and the pump?

Sounds like the ESOS plunger has gone :!: (Electronic Switch Off Solenoid)
The pump has to take alternative action to switch the engine off and you will have reduced power when switched on :!:
If you want full power, remember to stall the engine as you switch it off to fool the ECU into thinking the ESOS is working

In the meantime, search ESOS on the forum and find the how to change it :)

Thanks a lot Andy. However I tried to find this Delphi repair kit but it's rather impossible, at least on internet. Do you have any idea where I might order it from? Finland is not the easiest place to find such parts in the market, so if you have any suggestions about ordering through internet I'd highly appreciate it.

Hi there, yes, we should be able to help with the supply of the pump parts you need.

Our Delphi wholesaler has sent part to members in many counties on our behalf, so Finland won't be a problem.

To start off, we will need the full numbers and codes from your pump, DSA???????? etc.

Once you carry out the 'test' mentioned by AndyG to confirm that the ESOS unit is at fault, we will happily provide you with a pricing including insured delivery for the parts you need.

Hope this helps,

TIM

Thanks a lot, dieselhead123!
Well, I did what AndyG suggested and I regained full power. It seems that the car is working fine now except from the switching-off problem, so probably I need to do something with the ESOS.
The pump identification is the following:DSA1096, 07782, Mod MMG, Ser 8720A010A
Looking forward to hearing from you about prices and delivery time.

Thanks again,

Chris
