Radiator mounting points

Postby Parcel » Tue Aug 22, 2017 9:07 pm

Just come to put my radiator back on after 3-4 years of being the van being in a heap of parts and it don't fit!
Holes in new crossmember are 650mm centre and radiator mounting point are about 750mm
Measured me other MK3 and the mountings are 650mm to.
Think the radiator is the one that came off but can't be 100% as van (or the pile of bits and rust that pretends to be a van) has been all over the country over the last few years
And all the new radiators I can buy are 750mm centre so won't fit either
Am I being thick? What have I missed?
Radiators from 1986 about 2000 should be the same no?

Mk3 rads are different from mk4/5

I thought the only real difference was that the mk3 rads were not as tall. The mk4/5 crossmember has multiple mount points as there are different width rads on these

Thanks Matt
I've probably ended up with a later radiator then
Will have to go radiator shop rather than eBay and measure before I buy
Be safest
