rattle in box

Postby grumpygramps-2007 » Tue May 22, 2018 8:04 am

I,ve developed a rattle in my exhaust box probably due to the amount of pot holes up here.anyway thought I could cut the box open & see whats loose & weld it. is this doable, never looked inside a box so don,t know what I,ll find.

usually perforated tube so the gasses expand in the box and fiberglass wadding.

If the exhaust box rattles like a rattle, then there is already no glass wool.
The fallen piece of a perforated tube thunders.
Cut through the hole in the muffler body (exhaust box), take out the fallen off part and brew again no problem.

Are you sure it's the exhaust ? i had the same & replaced it, didn't cure it, turned out to be bearings in the gearbox.

place potato in exhaust, jam it right in there

rev nuts off engine

laugh as your van emulates a IED

buy a new exhaust.

I did as in the song "do't worry, be happy" and easily cut and welded exhaust boxes. The last option is from some Mercedes.
It was.

I too have been welding my exhaust Chack, used the end flared flange of a Ford Focus muffler welded on as my manifold downpipe flange :D
