Engine Number

Postby Big_Andy » Tue Jul 24, 2012 2:09 am

Hi all,

Yesterday I went in search of my new engine number, and found it on a flat under the O/S engine mount.

After cleaning the muck off, I can make out 4HB (engine type) followed by WY23439 and a symbol which looks like a reverse question mark. What do I put down on my V5C? My previous engine no was VB58343 so do I just put down WY23439 which would seem to be similar.

Here's another view from another angle.

Cheers. Checked old engine to compare, and found previous owner must have changed engine but not informed DVLA of new number.
