It seems that the lamp for fog lights in clocks may have some reversed wiring - somehow?

its like the lamp gets a perm 12v feed into its + term, not switched,
the - term of lamp is most likely connected to the switched 12v feed from fog lamp switch, so ,

as fog switched off, the dead leg to the relay is long enough for the warning lampo in dash to see it as a route to earth.
voila lamp on when off!!

gonna be fun reversing polarity on just one lamp! hope this helps

right first time i have posted on this one i have a transit 130l it is a factory fitted 15 seat minibus n reg 1996 smiley it has the 3 terminal alternator with 3 wires attached yahoo it has the best wiring harness in electic window pack inside the doors even though it does not have electric windows it is a cable speedo this i know because my trip reset is on the left of my gaugue so what year clocks will i need out of

c a tournao
any help would be gratefully recieved also does anybody know what i should be paying for 1 i also need to change my indicator switch has it does not cancel itself

hi i belive its from 1995 to 1997 ones after that they went electric i think im sure the pro's will no for sure tho

Why have all this mondeo hassle/half the time don't work clocks, when you can simply plug and play with the proper/official n/a clocks

Just fitted some mondeo clocks and its reading 5000 revs on tick over has anyone found out why it does this yet and fixed it ? ?

is it reading backwards? does it rest on 6k + when engine off?

Does asnyone found a solution for the 4800-5000 on Mondeo rev counter?

I had Transit clocks cluster with rev counter, but sometimes it was hanging, showing much lower revs than it should or simply zero.
I was thinking that was caused by the alternator which was dying slowly. I bought a new alternator a few days ago, but there is no improvement with the rev counter.

Today I bought Mondeo clocks, scaled to 6000, with D printed. The original rev counter was marked 97VP, the mondeo one is 97BP.
There is no matter if I connect whole mondeo cluster or only swap the rev counter to the original cluster, it shows something like 4-5k revs on idle.

Is there any solution? Finding original Transit rev counter at reasonable price in Poland is almost impossible

Out of interest, do the Mondeo clocks have an adjuster in them?

potentiometer perhaps?



I have used an old LR Discovery rev counter in my transit.....
just so I can see spool RPM and max RPM...

that has a potentiometer that alters the engine speed reading.

The Mondoe clocks are from a diesel.
The clocks I've got fitted are from 98-99 Transit and are fully electrical ones: 98VP-10C956-FB.
The Mondeo clocks I try to swap the rev counter from are 98BP-10C956-HB and are electrical as well. I assume the Mondeo was post 1998 then.

Ok, as per viewtopic.php?f=4&t=104398 I'll try to find a cable driven Mondeo clocks and then try out rev counter from them.

Yeah thats it . I had to mix n match the parts to get it all to work right. If you look at the circuit on the back of the rev counter it is slightly different from on model to the next, can't remember what ones what now. I was lucky and had about 4 Mondeos to take bits off.

Hiya everyone!! I've just put a 94 rev counter out of a mk1 Mondeo into me petrol speedo head (electronic drive) rev counter n temp n speedo works great!! Fuel gauge wandered so bad everytime I put me foot on accelerator it would shoot up etc. so I took needle off transit fuel gauge and fitted it into the decal for the Mondeo clocks, brimmed the tank and stuck the needle back on the full. Have done 100 miles and its sitting just under full, when I go round corners it does wander a lot, I've heard about this pcb on the back of the transit clocks , will it fit into 98 electric speedo for the Mondeo, cheers in advance.
