2.5 td wiring lucas epic

Postby matty90 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 11:03 pm

Basicly got a 2.5 td lump with the electric throttle epic pump e.c.t and wanting to put it in my mk5 transit i have the full engine loom with 4 wires coming off the end,and wondering where abouts in the dash they go to? or do i have to buy a full dashloom to match? Any help will be great thanks ps i already have the bosch setup on my other recov truck and its noisy and not my cup of tea may be reliable but i have always found the epics spot on :)

I would think you could splice it... but no idea where too

hi yes they have a plug on the end which was unplugged from under the ldv dash .. im thinking they wire to a switched live, earth e.c.t to power the ecu...rest of the wiring just plugs in for the battery light, oil light, water in diesel light and temp gauge e.c.t on a big round multi plug. just the 4/5 wires which is getting me...

The EPIC loom on transit (smileys) is pretty much 'stand alone',
Plugs into 1 connector (8 pin i.i.r.c) nr o/s strut top/footwell......

If some one took the time with a power probe/meter......
Or looked if 'non-epics' have this connector.....

thats what i was trying to find out if you got the plug with 4 wires then its by nsf strut..look under the tray above the glovebox and you will see the plug which the rest of the engine loom goes through a bit rubber bung to the engine bay..from under bonnet you will see the wires coming out and just to the left of that big grommit/bung you will see the ecu location, which is a big black bung bolted in place with 2 10mm bolts..
