HELP URGENTLY REQUIRED.business will go bust if i cant get my van up n running asap.
my van. 2.5 turbo elwb crewcab pickup.95/96.
red engine light permanently on. in limp mode. engine continues to run for 15secs after ignition key has been removed.!! have had several mechs including RAC try to conctect to management system but none of the testers will talk to system. all guesses so far have pointed to fuel pump/brain. it has been suggested that i change fly by wire pump for Bosch manual one.this i have fitted along with throttle cable and pedal. also new cambelt fitted.
:?: DOES ANYONE PLEASE KNOW WHAT WIRING TO CHANGE AS THERE ARE 20 OR SO IN CONNECTOR TO BACK OF ORIGINAL PUMP ??? :? thanks muchly si.

The pump has a faulty ESOS (Electronic Switch Off Solenoid) which needs replacing.

If its a manual... stall it when you turn the ignition key off. This fools the ECU in to thinking the ESOS is working correctly and it will not be in limp home next time you start. But you should replace the seals within the solenoid. Its a fiddly job, but can be done in situ. The seals should cost less than £20.

There is only 1 code reader which is guaranteed to read the mk4/5 td engines correctly (other than ford FDS - the forerunner to the current software ford has). This is a Lucas Lazer 2000. Several others do work, but they are old so most garages won't have them anymore!

Hope that helps?
