I got mine from the local vet, they don't mind if you have them without the needle.

I have a 100ps pre '97 pump/ECU/PATS and key (afaik) that you can try to eliminate if it's the pump or otherwise
Could the ESOS plunger have swollen, restricting fuel flow :?:

I would certainly try Jim's idea :!:

Thankyou Andy, thats the 2nd to last option Andy (last is bosch...)

The ESOS plunger is new - and it was like it with the old one (when it was stalled to get out of LHM)

Life's much nicer, if you don't get any needle.

I've done a 0-60 test this morning (road wasn't flat, but there was as much up as down)... 34.5 seconds

I put a fixed resistor in place of the IAT - equivilant to -4 degrees (via laser 2000), and it was slower than with the proper sensor.

I have also measured the resistances on the throttle pedal (in the correct ball park) - but max throttle only comes up as 90% via diagnostics.

I haven't had a chance to do anything with the boost sensor yet

  Slower than a 70PS fully loaded and towing a trailer :!:

I remember that Cameron had a similar problem when he changed his "blue spot" injectors and found that for some strange reason, his needed to have the earlier "blue spot" injectors to run right

See if you can find a set of 33408s  (or a set of marine   )

Thats with new (pattern) injectors...

I bought some 130 injectors and they should arrive before I get back to the van - unlike the genuine ones I asked for and have now given up on!

Won't 130 injectors make it smoke a lot? The ecu will think it's injecting less fuel than it actually is, and unless you can fool it into allowing more boost by fiddling with the MAP sensor signal, or something, I would imagine it will smoke. I am assuming the EPIC regulates fueling by injection duration.

Have had nothing to do with these things, so I'm probably wrong.

They are for the other van really...

But this van seems to be under fuelling - if I put them in the epic first and it doesn't smoke I know that it wasn't the injectors at fault.

The MAP sensor was changed and the figures were slightly - but not a lot higher

Okay

I have changed the MAP sensor and there is no noticable change (new one read boost about 0.1bar higher).

I have clamped the boost pipe to the wastegate (map is reading up to 0.9 bar boost) and no difference.

I have checked the idle and full throttle signals are getting to the ECU plug

And I have fitted 130ps injectors.

Nothing has made an appreciable difference..

I now think there is probably a fault in the pump somewhere :(

Probably a stupid suggestion but what condition is the clutch in? The only reason I ask is that I have just fitted a new 265mm clutch and it is a quite a bit quicker of the line now.

Is the stupid vacuum operated throttle body working correctly?
Is the egr blanked?
Is the pump timing correct?

Clutch seems fine

Egr is blanked off and no longer connected in any way (it has a loose focus one to keep the light off. Vac throttle body thing is tied open (was working correctly - tieing it up made no difference)

According to the laser pump timing is 0.6 degrees out.
