Replaced pass' door lock. That's them all done now except the fuel cap. That's on a separate key anyway so I'll just leave as is. Back to welding...

Went to a wedding. Slept in it. Then drove home :)

Did see another Mk5 based camper going up and down the A1. There's still some of us left ...

Not used my Smiley campervan for a couple of years . Noticed bad milky appearance at bottom edge of windscreen.
This is what I found when i removed the plastic trim . Yuk!..
Don't let this happen to you . You need to remove the plastic trim to get at the lower edge of the windscreen .There is a 1/4" gap beneath the windscreen under the trim which gathers dust which turns into mud when it rains and seeps into the laminate at the edge of the screen.

I cleaned the area, dried it thoroughly and treated the rust. To hide the milky stain I am going to cut and fit a strip of vinyl tint across the lower edge of the windscreen . I expect it will need replacing periodically .

Swapped the sliding door lock. Had to rebuild it from being a left hand drive van lock (unlocks with any key!) to being a right hand drive sliding door lock (locks with any key). You need the old lock housing, and swap the discs around after disassembling lock. Phew...
