discovered a pool of oil under the van this morning.
checked dipstick and it was about 1/2 way :(

started van and looked for a drip to appear.
oil was peeing past the oil filter seal :(
filter had come loose

retightened and all is well again (could have been catastrophic)

going to put a blob of tippex on the filter and housing so I can see at a glance if it unscrews again
when checking the oil on a morning.

Bought a set of ARB drop link kits off ebay , only the drop links arrived, no fitting kit, grrr. Twice that's happened to me now from different sellers. Thought right enough of that. I'll swap over roll bars from my parts van which takes the plentifully supplied cheap straight links available. Couldn't undo one link bolt and rounded off one torx to chassis bolt. 20 mins later with a hacksaw and voila , one free roll bar. Just need to take other bar off other van, but I'll wait till I've got the links, in full , in my hand first. Bloody ford

Listed it on ebay :(
Recently changed my job, now working long days and only 4 weeks hols a year, an one of them has to be taken at Christmas ! . Decided its pretty silly to have it sitting there for months on end, or just use it for general running around as it'll just get abused lol.
So now has a fresh 12 months MOT on which passed first time with no advisory's !
£999 start and no reserve.

Got an angle grinder and took the front wing off. Usual Mk 4, rusty wings, inner wings and MOT failure as it is getting close to suspension mounting. Thought it would only be outer wing /inner wheel arch but now looks like inner inner wheel arch as well which is a lot more work, dash out etc. Also found a hole in the chassis member in the same area. Question is do I dump it or repair it. I have the time to do the strip down and a friend to weld on new panels, although not sure about the chassis bit, but is it worth the grief. It is an ex BT chassis cab with a rather good alloy drop side pick up body and I have had it for 10 years. Any thoughts or is there a transit guardian angel living in North Bucks.

Keep at it Bernewood. For all you've said it don't sound much work. Panels are still plentiful and cheap.

I've got a good bit more than that to do on mine. It'll take me a while as I'm slow (and not very good) at welding.
Probably got about 2 metres of sills to replace, 2,3 (i hope) small patches on chassis, front spring hanger. Lights to rewire as previous owner chopped into loom to add silly spotlights. Oh and I only realised yest my MOT is out tomorrow as opposed to next month. So I'm up against it really.
Just got the tools out to do the ARB drop links and now the heavens have opened up.

Replaced knackered old plastic lensed headlights for new glass lensed ones.
Secured starter battery.
Found rain water running into drivers footwell from somewhere above the steering column bulkhead fitting...
