Ebay seller only ship to UK, a friendly soul who can help?

Postby eresseraca » Mon Mar 13, 2017 10:21 pm

Doing an interior door handle mod on my Mk5, fitting chrome handles, I have the handles but need the handle surround trims from a Ford Scorpio. Hard to get them at home since it's a rare car for us. Found a pair on eBay but the seller who is based in East Sussex only ship within UK and doesn't reply to my messages asking if they could ship to Finland.

Anyone here who could help me out, buy them and ship them over with an economy Royal Mail small packet solution or similar. I'd transfer the cah in advance to you in that case, plus a lil extra for the trouble

Depending on the physical size of the items, a small parcel from the UK to Finland seems to be £8.35.

I don't know what the items cost for UK delivery, but that's quite a chunk on top, unless you really want them

Uk shipping is free in this case, and the handles I already got so would be a nice lil detail mod to do when the handles already are in the drawer and I need to swap the door speakers so opening up the panels anyways. Think u could help? :)

Another member here needed some parts from Finland so we'll try to work out a way and I'll try to help him get his parts shipped over to UK instead :) But in case it doesn't happen I'll let you know. BIG thanks in advance :D

I assume the seller is meandmymonkeymatt1 in which case go to the postage & payments tab and change the postage destination country to Finland and the postage comes up.

What is this with Brittisch sellers not selling - posting to Europe???
After quit a search I finaly found the booster I needed, than the chap does not want to sell to Belgium :(
Whatever I suggest, the answer is no... :(
At het end he agreed, to send it to my UK friend
My friend did not know better and sended it by the regullar post to me.
The posting costed me more than the booster :?
WHY?????

You've answered your own question :!:
The cost of posting outside the UK can be horrendous, and often takes a long time to arrive, causing buyers to give poor feedback ratings for sellers who have only done what they were asked to do, and only charged the actual postage price.
Couple that with the fact that both Ebay and Paypal each take 10% of that postage cost as commission, leaving the seller out of pocket by 20%, if he has simply charged for the actual postage with nothing on top.

Just a couple of days ago, I was asked about posting 4 items that I was selling, to Australia; cost of the items, £15, cost of postage, (due to the physical size, not the weight) was £48! Ebay/Paypal would have kept £13 of the total, for themselves, so I would have lost money on that particular transaction, but luckily the buyer declined anyway

Sorry for late respons, I was on a long holiday, privilege of the retired.
Why would anybody give poor feedback on something he agreed with te seller from the beginning. 8)
Pakket service from Britain shall not be much more expensive as from the rest of Europe.
After all it has to be send to Belgium, not exactly the end off the world
My friend did not know better and send it by the regular post, more expensive, and now dubbel post price, longer to arrive...
Even so, did I give him negative feedback??? Why should I , I agreed on the only way he wanted to sell it to me.
I just rebuild my ambulance in to a camper, this has cost me a few thousend (no exact price...the wife can read too)
I bought stuf in the UK, Germany, Polen, Holland, France Italia and Lithuania, no one refused to sell it to Belgium.
