Postby grumpygramps-2007 » Sun Mar 26, 2017 11:15 am

rather than do aplate over job I thought I would have a go a making a complete outrigger myself.the main questionis how thick is the metal for these things. I,ve looked at the old one & its looks about 1mm can,t be right can it. anyway what can go wrong, ripout the old one bend some metal easy peasy

I've made my own, the hard bit was folding them into the right shape without a folder or fly press. I used a couple of army marquee pegs and a piece of market stall box section steel in a big vice.

Not sure if I am correct, but I am using 1mm for the body and braces etc and 2mm for the main chassis rails.
