I have a transit mk3 and want
to know if any of you have changed the double back door for a single, thanks

You mean a lift up tailgate ? Mine was changed by the previous owner when it was converted to a camper. Don't know what was involved in doing it though.
I have considered going back to twin doors as my tailgate is knackered and finding it hard to find a replacement, current Inner and outer skin are coming apart, inside is twisted and bent and most of the bottom seems to be made of filler !

I'll post you some pics, I doubt your Van has the holes in place to take a tailgate as standard as see from mine that the openings to take double doors are missing, so not so straight forward. I took my tailgate from my old 1991 mk3 as the one that came with my Van was almost rotten up to the number plate, it's still in good shape for a trannie tailgate that's 26 years old thanks to the fact it was waxed inside from new.

Ok, thanks. The holes are not a problem for me, i make it and weld the necesary parts for do it. I will cover the hinges holes of the two doors with rubber stoppers. I will post the process of this, thanks.
