why would you want to change it?

does the spedo not work?

If you're not exceeding 3500kg you don't have to put a card in it.

Unless the "bezzel"? the bit that surrounds the clocks and attaches it to the rest of the dash comes with either.
Then neither will be a straight fit.

Wiring and spedo wise might also be an issue.

You went Mk2 straight to Mk5 and missed Mk4 out.

Nope thats a Mk2 again.
A trawl of your local scrap yards is probably the best option

Nah all their Mk3/Mk4/Mk5s will be away to Poland :P

Try this lot, and if they are any good let us have some feedback ;) I have suggested them several times and no one ever came back to either say 'yeah they were great' or 'no, they were bloody useless' ;)

edit to add: I have never used them myself. Yet...

I am also surprised (unless you are in not one of the 4 countries that use Imperial measurements .. UK, USA, Burma and Liberia) that you get away with having a speedo and trip meter in km/h. Far as I was aware, it has to be converted to mp/h if it's in the UK. Guess no one noticed ... ;) You said it was L reg, which kinda means it's in the UK.

Hmm OK. I always thought the clocks had to be changed when they're imported.

edit: Yeah, it just has to display both. No requirement to change it.

Imperial Speedometer
Great Britain uses imperial units for speed measurement. The law requires that speedometers must
include a miles-per-hour display. Please note in particular that any modified display must be visible in
daylight and in darkness.
