so after a lot of cursing swearing an breaking parts to get to things
I have to replace viscous fan assembly DONT ASK WHY ???? Ahrg
so i removed timing belt an water pump and oil pump assembly
Thought while i have it stripped apart might as well replace the lot because i only want to do it once
Question i have removed the oil pump from my old Mk4 2.5DI engine and noticed that the pump has oil been running through it no probs
The problem is that i removed the oil pump ASSy from the 1996 Mk5 2.5TD and its squeeky clean no oil through it anywhere an the Gasket looks like it was put on yesterday
I am a little concerned due to the fact that their is no evidence of oil been running through it
I know it has a oil pump system feeds the EGR and thus cools the turbo
is this Normal ,? to not see any oil running through the pump assy when the engine is turned off
I all so NOTE that the EGR has oil deposits saturating the Intake Manifold section an has been leaking through the egr inlet manifold gasket flange top and bottom
Could my oil pump plumbing be hooked up incorrectly or is the pump stuffed ?
when the engine was running it seems to be very hot but never had any loss of power or warning lights or overheating issues
SO im puzzled
Please Any experts or season Novices please give me your words of Wisdom to help me rectify this issue
NOTE i will post some PICS to better clarify the issue
cheers
Wazza
