epic pump part help please

Postby iank » Mon May 01, 2017 2:30 pm

Well the old girl (transit) has been running sweetly since the fuel cutoff solenoid plunger was replaced (and back to normal :| boost)
Yesterday when we got home I discovered a lot of fuel leaking from the pump.
It looks like it is coming from the bottom of the pump.
There is a small screw plug at the base of the pump. It has a copper type flat washer with a neoprene seal in it.
I think its the culprit (hoping so)
I tried a couple of delphi diesel injection centres in melbourne with out success.
From my exploded view its item 170 and the plug item 171
The pump is 8720B031A and I think the part number may be 7187-112
Can any one please point me to where I can get one please or has stocks.

Thanks
Ian

Copper washer could be reanneelled (that's spelt wrong sorry) basically you just get it hot then it can be reused.
Is the other one an O ring type seal?

Just my two bids worth has similar issue thought it was same leaking issue after replacing solinoid O rings
but found that the housing was not quiet sitting centered over the O rings properly on the solinoid housing assy and was leaking down and underneath at same point at the screw on the bottom
check re seat the housing might fix issue

cheers

Thanks for your help and replies. I managed to source that washer.
However it looks like it is still leaking from a seal somewhere on the low pressure side.
Im guessing its the seal between the two sections.
Pity as the pumps working ok.

Thanks for the input everyone.
Looking at the pump exploded view that some gave me previously, Looks like its the seal in the body of the pump between the low pressure side and the pump body
unfortunately
