Engine missing on startup.

My Banana engine mk 5 misses when starting after standing for a couple of days.The miss clears after a few seconds. The engine is also black smoking. Any ideas please.

black smoke = too much fuel/not enough air.

If still fitted, check the butterfly is opening correctly, also ensure it ain't closing too much at idle, enough to choke the engine.

would the inlet manifold that needs cleaning be the cause of the black smoke?
