throttle cable

fitted new cable on my 2.5di. easy enough on the pedal & on the engine bracket. question is should there be any slack at the adjustment end or do you take this up. idles okay just seems a little down on power going uphill so I assume it needs adjusting.cheers gramps.

adjust the pump end until idle speed rises.
back the adjuster off until it idles correctly.
you should have full travel of the throttle now.

cheers for that, did as instructed & the difference is amazing. must have been running around on 70% power now goes up hill no problem. if you have a throttle cable check the adjustment well worth the effort. egr & cleaning of manifold next. :)

You have reminded me, I have a new one I've never got around to fitting (The adjuster is snapped in half on mine). Keep putting it off cause I want to combine it with other jobs (unseizing the idle stop screw (or fitting a new one) and tweaking the midrange fuel adjustment a bit more) ;)
