ahhhhggg epic fail

Ah the return of the epic,not had any problems for a year but today the wife broke down [99td]at first she cut out when slowing for a speed bump with engine light and she told me she had no power so limp mode,when I got to her it was the same but after a few starts the light would go out and the idle would rise to 1500-2000rpm and some times it just revs its self but not high rpm just like short burst as if you were blipping the pedals but it did go back into limp mode more the once as I nursed it home cant get a pump here in France does anyone have a blue dot good epic or all the bit for a Bosch swap ,is it with just trying the pedal first if so does anyone have one ,please helpppp me lol we want to go on lollipops [motorhome],maybe minormatt has them in stock if so please pm me

Ok so update had the chance of a cheap epic from a running van fitted it and all seems good haven't tried on the road as I reused the old belt will order a belt in the week fingers crossed eh

Just one question the replacement pump was much tighter to turn by hand than the old one ,I could almost spin the old one by hand could this have been its problem

Sounds like symptoms of the rotor failing tbh, so it would have been new pump time whatever.

I think this failure (along with cam failure) is down to less lubrication in modern diesel and I think that adding 2 stroke is a very good idea on the EPIC

All seems ok, I put a new belt on today and took it for a run all seems good so fingers crossed I got lucky with the used epic pump if I had to moan it would be that the idle is very very slightly low but I believe that is only adjustable when plugged in the a lucas laser

My egr is blanked at the inlet side ,can I blank the other side and remove it all together or does it need to stay plugged in ?
