Changing gearing

Postby Scott@THE CLINTS » Mon May 29, 2017 7:10 pm

Hi folks,I have a 96 tranny lwb,it's a turbo custom,it has 6 stud axles.i want to alter the gearing in order to lower the revs at motorway speeds,I've been told that the diffs can't be changed on 6 stud axles so am thinking of changing the axles to lighter ones as I don't use the van for heavy stuff. I'm presuming that tranny axles are interchangeable,I could be wrong though! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. :D

Hi there, thanks for the help. I'm not sure what ratio is in at the mo but it runs at 4000rpm at 70mph if that helps!

Now then,I've been offered a 5.65 diff for my tranny.is this the ratio that would work best to lower my revs at motorway speeds? It's offered at £205!
