starting mk 5 transit

I took the battery leads off one battery, with not taking the other battery off the leads touch with a small short, after putting the battery back on the engine turns over but will not start

you might have blown the main fuse 60/80 amp.
fuse box is located between the battery and inner wing on my mk5.
