VV carb query - yet another one!!

Postby dajome » Wed Aug 16, 2017 11:54 am

Ok, so I've stripped down my VV carb for refurb, but as I was cleaning all the muck from the float chamber, a small brass rod about 3mm diameter by 8mm long fell out and as I was fishing it out of my muck bowl, I also found a small ball bearing which must have fallen out from somewhere. I can't find them on the exploded diagram in the Haynes Manual, so can anyone help?

I'm not familiar with this carb, but would that not be the float hinge pin, and the ball bearing part of the shut-off valve :?: :?

I still have the float pin attached to the float so I know it's not that, but I'll check the ball bearing as you suggest. It's just annoying that they don't seem to be shown on the Haynes diagram, which shows every screw and gasket.

It's a long time since I've stripped one but if you have removed part of the venture held on with the 4 screws that the needle runs in I think it's for the accelerator pump the ball will go back in one of the drillings and the rod is weight for it that's the only thing it can be

Yes I have taken the needle housing off, thanks for that dumper, I'll check it out.
