Replace manual transit engine with and engine form an Auto?

I have a manual 97 2.5 Turbo diesel VG Ford Transit. Can i put a complete engine from an automatic van into my manual van? what parts would i need to change? (ie fuel pump, turbo, flywheel) still have all running gear from my old engine. i also have the auto gearbox if it turns out to be better off converting it to auto. Cheers!

Is your original engine a turbo?

Yes, the original engine is a turbo and so is the new one. the new engine is from a 2000 model VG. ideally i'd just leave the running gear on the engine, swap the flywheel and pop it straight in. Just concerned that there may be differences between the Auto and manual running gear?

Auto engine will go straight in and work. Just need to swap flywheel.

You need the spigot bearing in the back of the crank for the manual box (fairly sure it's a bearing and not a bush on the transit) you'll bugger the bearings in the box a lot quicker than you'd like otherwise.
A lot easier to get a new one than to get the old one out and swop over.
